We offer a unique workshop waste collection and disposal service. We use
multiple compartment vehicles and the vehicle that collects your waste
oil will also pick up your other waste streams at the same time. This
gives you less disruption to your workshop and minimised paperwork. Collection
frequencies are monitored ensuring the least amount of waste on your site.
And this superior service will probably cost you less, over a year, than
you are paying now and help you keep compliant with legislation.
Waste Oils and Fuels
Waste oil storage tanks and containers must be within an oil tight secondary
containment system such as a bund that should be impermeable to oil and
water and must provide storage of at least 110% of the tank’s maximum
capacity. There should be no damp course provided in the bund wall structure
and no drainage outlet. Make sure rainwater and spillages do not fill
up the bund to an extent that it would not have the capacity to hold the
entire contents of the tank.
We will work out with you the optimum frequency for collection of your
waste oil and thus remove the need for you to phone for collections.
Currently there is a market for recycled waste oil and this helps to keep
down the disposal costs of your other garage wastes. However, new legislation
is threatening the market for recycled waste oil. Big users such as coal-fired
power stations may be forced to withdraw from the market and this would
have the effect of increasing your costs of disposal. You may be assured
that we will seek out the best option for you.
Used Oil Filters, Antifreeze and Brake Fluid
These waste streams should be stored in “type approved” containers
and correctly labelled with the UN classification. Waste containers should
be bunded in case of spillages. Our unique multi compartment waste collection
vehicles will ensure that your drummed waste will be collected at the
same time as your waste oil and because of our attention to the monitoring
of your waste, the risk of overflow will be removed.
Vehicle Batteries
We supply battery boxes to store lead-acid batteries. Batteries should
be kept in a lidded non-metallic container placed away from direct heat
sources and stacked upright to minimise the risk of terminals touching
or shorting. We collect your batteries at the same time as your waste
oil.
Drummed Waste
Mixed fuels, solvents, aerosols, oily rags and wipes and absorbent granules
should be contained in our 205 litre clip top drums to await collection.
Plastics, tyres, bumpers, windscreen glass
These wastes are suitable for collection by our curtain-sided vehicles.
We visit at a time convenient to you and our vehicles are never far away
from your premises wherever you are located.
